Circular saw? Check!
Old beat up carbide blade? Check!
Earplugs? Eye protection? Check!
Is this clever? Uhhh...
I remove the top 1 1/2 inches of material, nails and all, using a circular saw to cut down to a certain depth. I probably ran the saw for about 20 minutes. (I KNEW there was a reason I got a Porter-Cable!)
My poor neighbors.
